NAMING
Sabi + Stow is an architecture design studio founded by Matthew Manzo to support those seeking an environment that deeply inspires and recharges them. A place that ignites the imagination, and fosters deeper connections not only with the people but also with the natural elements that are brought to the forefront in his designs.
From diving deep into the brand strategy to creating the brand identity, website, and messaging - we established a strong foundation for Sabi + Stow to find its place in the market and thrive.

Strategy Workshop: Elysia
Our first task as Matthew’s partner in bringing his vision to life was to name the studio. After going through an extensive naming exercise and brand strategy workshop, we felt Sabi + Stow was a perfect fit to help signify both the acceptance of imperfection (Sabi) and a grounding of permanence and comfort (Stow). Striking the balance between what is practical and what is possible.
As we translated this into design, we wanted the typography to feel structured, yet humanist. We accomplished this with a few subtle strock variations and other slight modifications. The color palette inspiration was pulled from natural elements and earthy, desaturated colors which was something unique in the market.
